The Goal of Therapy
VTS believes the goal of therapy is to increase both spiritual and psychological wellness. According to the American Psychological Association, “Therapists help people of all ages live happier, healthier, and more productive lives. Here at Virginia Therapy Services, we believe that many factors should be considered when it comes to helping individuals in counseling. For example, if one’s faith plays an important part in their identity, we believe your faith should be incorporated into your mental health treatment. “Faith tells us that no matter what lies ahead, God is already there.” Christianity brings stability, happiness, and strength to our lives. At VTS, we understand that religion and spirituality significantly influence their internal and external lives and are an important part of healing for many who seek professional counseling. By bringing together a network of Christian professional counselors, we have seen proven success. Using various therapeutic techniques, prayer, psychotherapy methods, and collaborative treatment measures, patients successfully developed life-changing habits to help them cope with life’s various obstacles.” VTS sessions are designed to dissect personal issues and provide individuals with practical tools to help them see the glass half full instead of half empty.
